Welcome to Faraid Academy! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Faraid Academy website, including all content, features, and services offered (collectively, the “Service”). Faraid Academy is a personal educational project created and operated by Faraid Academy Operator, an individual.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. About Faraid Academy
Faraid Academy is an educational platform primarily focused on Islamic inheritance law. It may also host competitions related to its educational content. The Service is a personal project intended for educational purposes.
2. User Accounts
- Registration: To access certain features of the Service, such as participating in competitions or saving profile information, you may need to create an account, typically through Google OAuth.
- Account Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
3. User Conduct
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else’s use and enjoyment of the Service. Prohibited behavior includes, but is not limited to:
- Violating any applicable laws or regulations.
- Providing false or misleading information.
- Harassing, abusing, or harming another person.
- Attempting to disrupt or interfere with the Service’s security or functionality.
- Using any automated system, such as “bots,” “spiders,” or “offline readers,” to access the Service in a manner that sends more request messages to our servers than a human can reasonably produce in the same period by using a conventional web browser.
4. Competitions
- Competition Rules: From time to time, Faraid Academy may host competitions. Each competition will have its own specific rules, guidelines, and eligibility requirements, which will be detailed in a competition guide (e.g.,
competition-guide.md
). By participating in a competition, you agree to abide by its specific rules. - Fair Play: Participants in any Faraid Academy competition are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and academic honesty. Cheating, plagiarism, collusion, or any other form of academic dishonesty is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification and/or account suspension. This is especially critical for timed competitions.
- Results: Competition results, which may include participant names and profile pictures (if
is_visible
is enabled by the user), may be published on the Service.
5. Intellectual Property
- Our Content: All content provided on the Service, including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, software, and competition questions, is the property of Muhammad Siddiq or its content suppliers and protected by international copyright laws. You may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information, software, products, or services obtained from the Service without our prior written consent.
- User Content: You retain ownership of any personal information you submit to the Service, subject to the rights granted to us in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content.
6. Third-Party Services
The Service utilizes third-party services for authentication and data storage:
- Google OAuth: For user sign-in. Your use of Google OAuth is subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Supabase: For backend database and authentication services.
We are not responsible for the practices of these third-party services.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
- “As-Is” Basis: The Service is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the Service or the information, content, materials, or products included on the Service. You expressly agree that your use of the Service is at your sole risk.
- No Guarantee of Uptime or Accuracy: While we strive to maintain the Service, we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. As a personal project operated by an individual, resources are limited, and occasional downtime or inaccuracies may occur.
- Educational Content: Information provided on Faraid Academy is for educational purposes only and should not be considered professional legal or financial advice.
- Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Muhammad Siddiq shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
8. Account Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- A breach of these Terms.
- Conduct that we deem “unruly,” harmful to other users, the Service, or third parties.
- Illegal activities.
- Prolonged inactivity (as defined in our Privacy Policy regarding data retention).
9. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website. If a revision, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via the email address associated with your account or by posting a notice on the Service. By continuing to access or use the Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Indonesia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved amicably through discussion. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Indonesia.
